#AndhraPradesh local body polls and the nomination process have witnessed massive political violence, arson, and anarchy.

Open scuffles are breaking out inside nomination centers.

Violence is spilling onto the streets, vehicles are being burnt, and dark plumes of smoke fill the sky.

The YSRCP alleges that law and order in the state have completely collapsed, claiming that supporters of the ruling TDP-NDA alliance are intimidating opposition candidates, preventing them from filing nominations, and vandalizing vehicles and properties.

Meanwhile, the TDP argues that the opposition is intentionally creating chaos out of fear of defeat.

However,

Are local body elections being held for such a 'free and fair' system?

Does the occurrence of such violence right in front of administrative and police officials not raise a major question mark on law and order?

If such visuals and anarchy had emerged from an opposition-ruled state, would the mainstream media and national debates have remained this silent?
